Yo Tanaka


Yo Tanaka is a Unit Leader in Center for Biosystems Dynamics Research (BDR), RIKEN. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Tokyo, Japan in 2007. He worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Chemistry, School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo from 2008 to 2011. He has been working as a Unit Leader in the Quantitative Biology Center, RIKEN, since 2011. The current position is since 2018 due to the reconstruction of organization in RIKEN. His work focuses on microfluidic technology and novel principle device development using cell functions. Especially, glass microfluidic chip development is one of his major work. Simultaneously, he has been collaborating with many researchers in biological fields to develop next generation biological experiments platforms using microdevice technologies.
