The theme this time is “The Kidney”.
We have all experienced the sudden need to pee, which accumulates in our body without us knowing it.
Why is it that when we drink a lot of water, we feel the need to go to pee, or when we sweat a lot, the color of pee appears darker.
The kidneys are the organs that actually make the pee (urine). We have two kidneys, which are located below the ribs on either side of the spine. They regulate the amount of water in the blood, and can distinguish between substances that are needed by our bodies and those that are not. The kidneys eliminate the substances that are not needed by our bodies and considered waste in the form of urine.
This is why the inside of the kidneys have a unique form. Take a peek and learn about the parts inside the kidney while coloring!
